This is from an animation assignemnt where we were supposed to do some techvisualisation.
I found the model on GrabCad and dowloaded it as a STEP-File. I then modified the text on the side and tesselated it.
Then I imported it to Blender, rigged it and made it walk and roll!
Materials are made in Substance Painter, besides from the eyes that is made with a simple Glass BSDF and a sphere with emission.
I put this to multiple scenes and animated the text in to the scenes to give it a more united and lively feeling.
I Also made a second texture for this little robotfriend, visualizing a tough day outside and quite some time of wear and tear, also in Substance Painter. The pictures is Post processed in Photoshop and i really like the kind of dystopic feeling the pictures give. This little robot feels like he helped the world survive something pretty horrible and finally completed the mission.

Here we have a visualisation of the UVs, For the bigger and most visible parts i made the UVs manually and for the smaller and less visible parts i used Turbu-UV.
During this project i learned alot! I learned more about tweaking STEP-files in Fusion360 and i learned how to rig using reverse kinematics and to make a character move and walk. There is still improvements to make and i look forward to coming back to this little guy in the future and give him more justice with cooler animations!
I Also deepened my knowledge in Substance 3D painter about tweaking materials to give them more character and traces of usage. The mud/scrats texture was so much fun to do!
